  • The Neuro-ICU has fellows and nurse practitioners 24 hours a day, 7 days a aweek and the niht float resident does not cover the unit.
  • Long calls are split between select junior residents (depending on rotations) and select PGY3 residents.  Long call is from 4 PM to 8 PM, and occurs at a frequency of 2x/week for junior residents on the general inpatient service, and 1x/week for others.
  • All stroke codes are staffed with the stroke fellow or stroke attending.
  • Clinic is done in an X+Y system.  Clinic is at least every 6th week, and is fully dedicated to outpatient experience (Y).  The other weeks (X) are other rotations which can be a mix of inpatient, outpatient, research, or electives.
  • Didactics occur throughout the week, but we have an academic half day session on Friday afternoons from 12-4.  This time is protected for resident education and a mix of both faculty and resident led education.
